Legerski Adds Another Student-Athlete

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

University of Wyoming Cowgirl head basketball coach Joe Legerski today announced that Rebecca Vanderjagt is transferring from James Cook University in Townsville, Australia, and will attend the University of Wyoming beginning in the spring of 2006.

Rebecca Vanderjagt, 6-3, Center, Townsville, Australia (Lake Ginninderra HS):

Has been attending James Cook University in Townsville, Australia. A two-time Junior All-Australian Camp selection in 2003 and 2004, she attended the Australian Institute of Sport Academy in 2003. She represented the Queensland North State in 2002 and 2003, and is currently a Queensland All-State representative. Vanderjact was a teammate of current Cowgirl Hanna Zavecz, while at the Australian Institute of Sport. Rebecca is the daughter of Ron and Jennie Vanderjagt.

"We're pleased with the addition of Rebecca," said Legerski. "She will add depth to our inside game, and we're looking forward to her joining the program."

The Cowgirls signed two student-athletes to national letters of intent earlier this month. The other signees include Alysia Kraft (5-6, Guard, Encampment, Wyo.) and Meghan McGuffey (5-11, Guard, Cheyenne, Wyo.).
