In their only game of the week, the Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team will play a fourth consecutive home game when they host the Colorado Buffaloes, on Wednesday night, at 7:00 p.m.
The Cowgirls enter this week's competition with an early overall record of 3-1 after a victory over Denver, 55-54, on Friday, and a 65-45 win against the Northern Iowa Panthers, on Sunday. They are led by Erin Hicks, who is averaging 12.5 points, nine rebounds and 3.5 steals per contest. As a team, the Cowgirls are shooting 69-205 (.337) from the field and 61-84 (.726) from the charity stripe.
Colorado comes in to the game with a 2-2 overall record with a win over Penn, 69-49, and a tough loss to the second ranked team in the country LSU, 75-44, over the weekend. They are led by Anna Nedovic, who is averaging 11 points along with six rebounds per contest. The Buffs return one starter and seven letterwinners to a team that went 22-8 overall and 11-5 in the Big 12 conference a year ago.
This will be the 41st meeting between the two schools. Colorado leads the series 32-8, and has won the last 13 games in a row. The last time the two teams met was Dec. 28, 2003 in Boulder when the Buffaloes defeated the Cowgirls, 71-39.
