The Wyoming Cowgirl Basketball team returns home after four straight games on the road. They will host the Idaho Vandals, on Saturday, Dec. 4. The game is set for 12:00 p.m. in the Arena Auditorium. Live stats can be followed or audio can be found on www.wyomingathletics.com.
Wyoming is currently 4-2 on the season after suffering a double-figure loss 65-53 against UC Irvine on Monday. Hillary Carlson is leading the way with 17 points and 8.7 rebounds, while Aubrey Vandiver follows with 14.8 points and 8.5 rebounds. The Cowgirls are shooting .398 (130-327) from the field and 77-107 (.720) from the charity stripe.
The Vandals are currently 5-1 overall and led by Yinka Olorunnife who is averaging 14.7 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. She is followed by Rachele Kloke who is adding 9.7 points and 5.5 rebounds. They return four starters and six letterwinners to a team that went 11-20 overall and 8-8 in the Western Athletic Conference last season.
This is the sixth meeting between the two schools The last time the two teams met was Dec. 3, 2009 as the Cowgirls defeated the Vandals, 61-55, in Moscow. Idaho is coached by Jon Newlee who is in his third season with the program and his 12th overall.
