The Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team will play their final home non-conference game against the Montana Lady Griz, on Tuesday, Dec. 17. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 7:00 p.m. in the Arena Auditorium. The Cowgirls are 7-2 this season after a 20-point win, 71-51, over Ball State on Saturday afternoon. Four Cowgirls finished the night in double-figures led by Kayla Woodward. She recorded a team high 19 points while adding six rebounds. She was followed by Lewis with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Kaitlyn Mileto added 16 points and Kaylie Rader finished with 11. Wyoming was 25-60 (.417) from the field and our rebounded the Cardinals, 47-35.
Woodward is averaging a team high 16.3 points plus 6.6 rebounds, while Lewis is adding 15.1 points and a team high 9.3 rebounds. Mileto follows with 14.6 points and Dent leads the way with 4.3 assists plus 7.8 points per game. As a team, the Cowgirls are shooting 235-564 (.417) from the field while averaging 41.7 rebounds and 74.2 points per game.
The Lady Griz are 6-2 overall after a 61-52 loss against Temple last time out. They are led by Torry Hill who is averaging a team high 12.9 points. Jordan Sullivan is adding a team high 6.6 rebounds plus 10.1 points. They return two starters and eight letterwinners who went 24-8 overall and 16-4 in the Big Sky Conference a year ago.
This will be 16th meeting between the two schools. Montana leads the series 9-6. The last time the two teams met was Dec. 6, 2012 as the Cowgirls defeated the Lady Griz, 58-56 in Missoula. They are coached by Robin Selvig who is in his 36th season with the program.
