The Wyoming Cowgirl Basketball team will wrap up their four-game homestand as they welcome the Washington State Cougars, on Saturday, Dec. 18. The game is set to tip off at 2:00 p.m. in the Arena Auditorium.
Wyoming is currently 6-3 on the season after a tough 63-59 overtime loss to the Wisconsin Badgers on Wednesday night. Aubrey Vandiver is leading the way with 16.7 points and 9.9 rebounds, while Hillary Carlson follows with 15.8 points and 9.8 rebounds. The Cowgirls are shooting .396 (194-490) from the field and 127-176 (.733) from the charity stripe.
The Cougars enter this week's game with a 2-8 record and are coming off a 93-75 loss against Gonzaga last time out. They are led by Carly Noyes, who is averaging a team leading 9.8 points. She is followed by Sage Romberg who is adding 9.7 points and 5.6 rebounds. They return four starters and eight letterwinners to a team that went 8-22 overall and 3-15 in the Pac 10 a year ago.
This is the eighth meeting between the two schools. WSU leads the series 6-1. The last time the two teams met was December 5, 2009 as the Cougars defeated the Cowgirls, 63-50, in Pullman. Washington State is coached by June Daugherty who is in her fourth season with the program.
