The Cowgirls will head out on the road for the first of their two final games before the Christmas break. They will travel to Missoula, Mont. to face the Montana Lady Griz, on Tuesday, Dec. 21. The game is set for 7:00 p.m. at Dahlberg Arena. Live audio can be found on www.wyomingathletics.com.
Wyoming is currently 7-3 on the season after a double-figure victory, 63-43, over Washington State on Saturday afternoon. Aubrey Vandiver is leading the way with 16.8 points and 10.0 rebounds, while Hillary Carlson follows with 17.5 points and 7.7 rebounds. The Cowgirls are shooting .399 (218-546) from the field and 137-193 (.710) from the charity stripe.
The Lady Griz are currently 3-7 overall and coming off a 62-55 loss against Portland last time out. They are led by Katie Baker, who is averaging a team leading 11.1 points and 9.2 rebounds. She is followed by Sarah Ena who is adding 9.1 points and five rebounds. They return four starters and eight letterwinners to a team that went 15-14 overall and 10-6 in the Big Sky conference a year ago.
This is the 13th meeting between the two schools. Montana leads the series 8-4. The last time the two teams met was November 15, 2009 as the Cowgirls defeated the Lady Griz, 68-38, in Laramie. Montana is coached by Robin Selvig who is in his 33rd season with the program.
