Wyoming Basketball Returns Home For Match Up Against Anteaters

The Cowgirl basketball team will play their final game before the holiday break against the UC Irvine Anteaters, on Wednesday, Dec. 21. The game time is set for 7:00 p.m. in the Arena Auditorium. Live stats can be followed or audio can be found on www.wyomingathletics.com.

Wyoming enters the game 3-7 overall after a six point loss, 65-59, against the Idaho Vandals on Sunday afternoon. The Cowgirls are led by junior Ashley Sickles who leads the team with 12.9 points plus 6.6 rebounds per game. Chaundra Sewell follows with 12.3 points and a team leading 8.8 rebounds, while Kaitlyn Mileto is adding 10.1 points. As a team, they are shooting 205-550 (.373) from the field and 44-193 (.228) from beyond the arc.

The Anteaters are 4-7 overall after a 71-56 loss against Northern Colorado on Monday night. UCI is led by Kassandra McCalister who is averaging 11.5 points and 3.1 rebounds. Jazmyne White follows with 11.3 points and a team high 5.9 boards per contest. They return three starters and seven letterwinners to a team that went 15-15 overall and 7-9 in the Big West Conference.

This is the second meeting between the two teams. UCI has won the only meeting between the two teams. The last time the two teams met was Nov. 29, 2010 as the Anteaters defeated the Cowgirls 65-53 in Irvine. UCI is coached by Molly Goodenbour who is in her fourth season with the program.
