LARAMIE, Wyo. -
The University of Wyoming women's golf team continued tournament play on Tuesday in Goodyear, Ariz., at the Bobcat Desert Classic. Wyoming's 36-hole total of 645 continues to hold them 16th after two days. Round Two saw UW's team score drop three strokes from their first day mark to 321.
"We are playing this tournament better than we did last year," said UW head coach Jill Rettinger. "This young team is getting our feet wet in our first competition of the spring and our goal is to get better each round, which we did today."
Boise State's Katie Street currently tops the individual leader board with an even par score of 144, while Idaho maintained it's lead in the team standings with 597 strokes.
The three-day, 54-hole tournament features 19 teams from mainly the western half of the country. Each team played five golfers and counted the four best scores.
The tournament, which continues with a final 18 holes on Wednesday, is hosted by Montana State University and is being played at the Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear. Palm Valley plays to a par of 72 and measures 6,050 yards.
