BOULDER CITY, Nev. -
The University of Wyoming women's golf team finished action in the second day of the UNLV Spring Invitational on Tuesday in Boulder City, Nev.
The Cowgirls find themselves in 18th place and a total 630 (+54) after two rounds. Meanwhile, UNLV still leads their host tournament with a second round 286 (-1) to bring their total to 567 (-9).
"This is a great event with a very solid field," said UW Director of Golf Joe Jensen. "It is our first time out this season and it has been a great learning experience for this very young team."
The Cowgirls are led by sophomore Juanita Rico who is currently tied for 47th place after her second round 78 (+6). Juanita, along with the rest of the team had their struggles on just one or two holes on the day.
"Juanita played well today and we just need to continue to improve on keeping some of the tough holes at bay," said Jensen.
Junior Molly Black trailed Rico with her second round 80 (+8) to have her in a tie for 56th place.
The Cowgirls will finish action in Boulder City, Nev., Wednesday, teeing off at 7:30 with live stats available at www.golfstat.com.
