LARAMIE, Wyo. -

The Wyoming Cowgirls concluded theIdaho Vandal Spring Invitational on Tuesday with a fourth-place team finish.Wyoming senior Jordan Lintz led the way for Wyoming with a second-placefinish -- one stroke back of individual winner Julie Wells of Idaho. Lintzfinished at 14 over par 230, while Wells shot a 13 over 229.

The host school Idaho Vandals won the team title with a 54-holetotal of 929.

"The greens were very fast an unpredictable this week, and it wasevident in the team scores," said UW women's golf coach Jill Johnson. "Thehost team, Idaho, was really the only team that put up a good team score.

"Jordan (Lintz) took a lead into the final round, but she struggledon the front nine. She had to shoot 36 on the back nine just to finish withan 80. I know Jordan would have liked to finish up stronger, but the finalround today was really the only bad round she's had in awhile.

"Kim (Nissen) had a solid tournament for a freshman. Her goal wasto finish in the Top 10, and she would have accomplished that except for twotriple bogeys in the final round. She finished in a tie for 13th, markingher third Top 25 finish this season.

"We didn't finish the way we would have liked this week, but we havealmost two weeks to prepare for the Mountain West Championship. Hopefullywe'll get a lot of good weather the next couple of weeks so that we can getout and play a lot of rounds of golf."

The tournament was played on the University of Idaho Golf Course, which measured 6,011 yards and played to a par of 72. The Idaho VandalInvitational was the final regular-season tournament of the year for theCowgirls. Wyoming will compete at the Mountain West Conference Championshipon April 24-26 in St. George, Utah.
