"Jessi (Santesson) had a great tournament," said Wyoming women'sgolf coach Jill Johnson. I'm thrilled to see her play so well afterhaving a difficult tournament in Hawaii a couple of weeks ago. Jessi hasbeen hampered with back problems throughout this season. I know she is veryexcited with performance this week, and this should give her a lot ofconfidence heading into the conference championship later this month.

"We had a tough day today (Tuesday) as a team. The girls areworking hard, but we are still suffering from the weather back home and notbeing able to get outside as much as we would have liked. We're strugglingwith our short-game skills and our course-management skills. Those areaspects of the game that are difficult to simulate unless you are able toget outside on the course.

"Obviously, we have a lot of work to do in the next 10 days beforethe conference championship, but I have confidence in the girls and theyhave confidence in themselves that they can make a good showing at theMountain West Championship. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate when weget home and let us get the kind of practice out on the course that weneed."
