Cowgirl Golf Concludes Day One at Colorado State Ram Fall Classic

The University of Wyoming women's golf team played the first 36 holes at the Colorado State Ram Fall Classic in Fort Collins, Colorado on Monday. UW is 16th of 18 teams after Day One with 634 strokes. Colorado State University leads the team standings with a score of 581.

Freshman Laura Mengelkamp (Dover, Pa.) led the Cowgirls for the second straight tournament by shooting consecutive rounds of 74 and is tied for 12th overall. Also for the second straight outing, fellow freshman Lindsay Bauknecht (Vienna, Va.) was next for Wyoming with rounds of 79 and 78. Additionally for UW was Michelle Camaione with rounds of 81 and 80, Shala Hanson scoring 81 and 88 and Whitney Hernandez with 87 and 87. Each team played five golfers and counted the four best scores.

The 54-hole Colorado State Ram Fall Classic is being played at the Ptarmigan Golf Club. One final 18 hole round will conclude competition on Tuesday. Ptarmigan plays to a par of 72 and measures 6,113 yards.
