HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. -
The Wyoming Cowgirl golf team played through another cold and tough day at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate Tuesday morning as they finished the second round with a team 316 (+28).
"The weather was a little bit better, but it was still really cold out there," said UW head coach Josey Stender. "They played really tough today but we had a tough time putting today."
Sophomore Juanita Rico led the Cowgirls today with her second-round 76 (+4) which gives her a total 160 (+16) and a tie for 39th-place through two rounds. Senior Sarah Fogerty and junior Molly Black are setting the pace for the team with their two round totals of 157 (+13) and 158 (+14), which has them in a tie for 28th and 32nd respectively.
"Juanita played four over on the front nine but hit the turn and got it in gear and played the back nine even par, which was nice to see out of her," said Stender. "The girls are right there and just need a few breaks to go their way in order to get their confidence back. I believe in this team and know they can do it."
The final round of the Ron Moore Intercollegiate will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 am and can be followed with live results at www.golfstat.com.
