Cowgirl Golfers Competing at the Dick McGuire Invite

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

The University of Wyoming women's golf team is currently in 17th place after one round of the Dick McGuire Invite in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Tournament host New Mexico is leading with a team score of 295. The Cowgirls shot an opening round 340. Only the top four scores from each team are counted toward the total team score. New Mexico's Kailin Downs is leading the tournament individually with a three-under par score of 70.

Sophomore Bailey Adcock from Sugarland, Tx., led the wayfor Wyoming by posting a first round score of 82. Behind Adcock is junior Shala Hanson who shot an 85. Other UW golfers that finished were freshman Michelle Camaione, senior Ashley Cariveau, and freshman Kayla Morrison.

The Dick McGuire invitational is a three round tournament played on the UNM championship course. The course plays to a par-73 on 6,069 yards. The Cowgirls will tee off for round two of the three round tournament tommorow morning at 8:30.
