Wyoming in Sixth Place After One Round of the Ron Moore Women's Classic

The Universityof Wyoming women's golf team is sitting in sixth placeafter one round of the Ron Moore Classic in Highlands Ranch,Colo. Iowa State University is leading the tournament with ateam score of 308. Leanne Owens from Iowa State is leadingafter one round by posting a one-over par 73.

The Cowgirls finished the round with a team score of 321,one stroke out of fifth place. Individually, senior AshleyCariveau leads UW and finds herself sitting in a tie foreighth place as she shot a 78 (+6) on the first 18 holes.Freshman Kayla Morrison is only one stroke behind Cariveauwith a score of 79 (+7). Other UW golfers in the two daytournament are freshman Michelle Camaione, junior ShalaHanson, and sophomore Bailey Adcock.

The Ron Moore Classic is hosted by Denver University and isplayed on the Highlands Ranch Golf Course. The coursemeasures 6,252 yards and plays to a par-72. There are seventeams in the tournament and the final round of 18 holes willbe played tommorow morning with a tee time set at 8:00.
