The University of Wyoming women's golf team played the first of two rounds today at the Heather Farr/CU Memorial Tournament in Broomfield, Colorado. UW is tied for 12th of 14 teams, after totaling 327 strokes Monday. San Jose State leads the tournament with a score of 296. The final 18 holes will be played Tuesday.
UW freshmen Lindsay Bauknecht and Laura Mengelkamp had the lowest rounds counted towards Wyoming's team total, with 80 and 81, respectively. Cowgirl sophomore Kayla Morrison, playing as an individual, shot a 77 and is tied for 20th of 80 golfers.
Each team played five golfers and counted the four best scores.
The 36-hole, two-day tournament is being played at the Omni Interlocken Golf Club. The Omni plays to a par of 72 and measures 6,087 yards.
