Day Two Results
Gabrielle Gibson fired a 68 (-4) to tie the lowest individual round in school history on Saturday during the second round of the DU Ron Moore Intercollegiate. She is now tied for 13th place individually and helped UW record its lowest round of the season with a 295 (+7) . Wyoming moved four spots to sit in 11th place of the 18-team field with one round remaining.
Gibson became just the second Cowgirl to shoot a 68 (-4), as Molly Black had been the only one to record that score during the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic in 2009.
“I’m so very proud of the team to hang tough and shoot our lowest round of the year,” UW head coach Josey Stender said. “Gabrielle (Gibson) played stellar and patient all day. I’m so happy for her and proud to see all the hard work pay off.”
Gibson recorded six birdies on the day to shot her career-low score. She moved up 48 spots to lead the Cowgirls during round two. Megan Knadler shot a 75 (+3) on Saturday and is now tied for 45th with a two-round total of 150 (+6). Playing as an individual, Kaylee Knadler recorded a second round score of 75 (+3) to bring her two-day total to 151 (+7). Taylor Dorans also fired a 75 (+3) during the second round for UW. Dorans has a total score of 152 (+8) after the first two rounds.
Klara Castillo recorded an 80 (+8) on Saturday and now sits tied 63rd with a total of 153 (+9). To wrap up the Cowgirl lineup, Kathleen Kershisnik shot a 77 (+5) and is tied for 75th with her two-round total of 155 (+11).
Wyoming will finish play at the DU Ron Moore Intercollegiate tomorrow morning.
