"We couldn't ever really get going this week," said UW women's golfcoach Jill Johnson. "Jessi had a good first round, shooting a 79, but thatwas the best round of the tournament for our team. This was an outstandingfield of teams. There were eight Big 12 teams competing, and a couple ofvery strong teams in New Mexico State and TCU. We don't compete again untillate February, so we have the winter to work on our swings and get refocusedfor the spring season. We're a very young team, with seven of our 10 rosterplayers being either freshmen or sophomores. The fall season was a learningexperience for a number of our players. Hopefully, the experience theygained this fall will go a long way toward us having a good spring season."
The tournament was played on the NMSU Golf Course, which played to apar of 72 and measured 6,117 yards.
Wyoming's next competitionwill be Feb. 24-25, 2001, when they travel to Tucson, Ariz., for theMountain View Intercollegiate.
