Cowgirl Golf Opens Spring Season at UNLV

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

The University of Wyoming Cowgirl golf team will open the 2010 spring portion of their season on Monday at the UNLV Spring Invitational in Boulder City, Nev.

The Cowgirls enter the three-day tournament along with 18 teams, four of which who received votes in the latest NGCA Coaches poll. Those schools include Baylor, Idaho, Texas and Texas Tech.

The Cowgirls are led by junior Molly Black with her team low 75.80 stroke average. She currently ranks 13th in the Mountain West Conference. It has been five months since the Cowgirls were last on the tee-box, when they competed at the Heather Farr Memorial in Erie, Colo., on Oct. 6, 2009.

The Boulder Creek Golf Club extends 6,246 yards and plays a par 72. Each day will begin at 7:30 a.m. and live scoring will be available at www.golfstat.com.
