COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -
Saturday, the Mountain West Conference announced the selection of its All-MWC women's golf members.
On the heels of her first ever individual title and MWC Championship win, Wyoming Cowgirl junior Jonelle Martinez was named to the First-Team list. Martinez, who shot a three round total of 221 (+5) at the Black Horse Golf Course in Seaside, Calif., joined Jordan Lintz as the second UW team member to win an individual conference title. Lintz, who accomplished the feat in 2000, was also named to the All-Conference team, the last to do so for the Cowgirls.
"It is a great honor for Jonelle that she has worked so hard for," said UW head coach Josey Stender. "It is a great example of how competitive this program has got and really shows just how difficult it is to receive this honor in our conference."
Martinez led the Cowgirls this season with her 77.87 stroke average in 31 rounds of golf. She played in every tournament this year, being a major part of the record setting season the Cowgirls had in 2008-09.
