LARAMIE, Wyo. - The University of Wyoming Women's Golf head coach Josey Stender announced Monday the signing of Kristen Jensen to a National Letter of Intent to join the Cowgirl squad in 2010-11.

Jensen comes to Wyoming from Picture Butte, Alberta, Canada and will join current sophomore Juanita Rico who hails from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Jensen was the team captain for her volleyball team, basketball team and the golf team. In 2008 and 2009 she was the South Zone Champion on the links in Canada as well as earning the Alberta Golf Association Junior Achiever Award in 2008.

"I am excited to have Kristen join the program and bring more depth to the already talented recruiting class," said Stender. "She is an exceptional student, has a great short game and mature temperament on the course. Kristen also brings a team oriented and very coach able attitude to the program, something every coach looks for in their players."

Jensen joins Stacey Blunt from Federal Way, Wash., and Emily Wood from Salida, Colo., for the 2010-11 Cowgirl golf season.
