Sept. 27, 1999

University of Wyoming seniorJordan Lintz shot rounds of 74 and 79 to move into a tie for 27th place andthe Wyoming Cowgirls find themselves in 13th place following the first tworounds of the University of Colorado Heather Farr Memorial Golf Tournament.Lintz is only five shots out of the Top 10 entering Tuesday's final round.

"We had a solid day today, despite very cold conditions in Boulder,"said UW women's golf coach Jill Johnson. "We shot a 323 in the first roundand came back with a 315 in the afternoon, which is the best round we'veshot in quite awhile.

"We hit a lot of fairways and a lot of greens today. We didn't makeas many putts as we would have liked, but overall I'm encouraged with theway the girls played, and I know the girls are excited about shooting astrong final round on Tuesday. Three individuals shot in the 70s for us inthe afternoon round, and that's the kind of balance we need.

"Jordan (Lintz) had an excellent first round with a 74. I was realpleased with the way Katherine (Crowley) and Kim (Nissen) played in theafternoon round, with rounds of 79 and 77, and Jessi (Santesson) had a greatcomeback down the stretch. I'm hoping we don't have snow tonight (Monday),because the girls are excited to get back out to the golf course on Tuesday, and I'm excited to see if we can trim a few more shots off our score in thefinal round."
