Ashley captured three tournament titles as a junior, and carries a seven handicap.
The two sisters will enter their senior season having helped leadStevens High School in Rapid City to two State Team Championships theirfirst three years of high school.
"I'm very excited to have Aryn and Ashley (Cariveau) join ourprogram," said UW women's golf coach Jill Johnson. "They will reallyincrease the level of competition within our team, and I know they have highexpectations for themselves. They both have great short games, which willimmediately separate them from a lot of younger players at the collegiatelevel. They may not be the longest hitters off the tee, but they know howto get the ball in the hole. Having that ability to score on a golf courseis the most important characteristic a golfer can have, and both Aryn andAshley have that ability."
They are the daughters of Kathy and Randy Cariveau of Rapid City. They competed for the same high school, Rapid City Stevens High School, thatcurrent UW senior Jordan Lintz played for during her prep career.
