WYOMING 0, Colorado 1 - Box Score

The University of Wyoming Cowgirl soccer team lost a close one to the University of Colorado today, in Boulder, by a score of 0-1. With the loss, the Cowgirls fall to 0-3 on the season.

Colorado got on the score board early when Tiffany Booth scored the lone CU goal 7:29 into the match. Assisting on the goal was Nicolle Taylor. One goal was all that was needed as CU goalie Jeanne Rankin and the Buff defense held the Cowgirls scoreless throughout the rest of the game. The Cowgirls had two shots in the game, both being on goal. Rankin made saves on both shots. Colorado attempted 13 shots with four of those being on goal, Cowgirl goalie Lori Scheider recorded three saves.

Head coach Anne Moore stated that "overall we played very well defensively and kept the ball out of the back of our net. However, offensively we were a little more tentative and lax, as far as creating opportunities for our team to be in position to score."

With the win Colorado has completed the best start in school history, the first 2-0 start since the program began.

The Cowgirls will have little time to recover as they open their home season by hosting Sacramento State on Sunday at the UW Soccer Stadium. This game marks the first of ten home games and the beginning of a five game home stand. Sacramento State tied Utah State today 1-1, to run their overall record to 0-2-1. Game time is set for 12 pm.
