BOISE, Idaho -
The University of Wyoming Cowgirl soccer team scored the first goal of the game, but Boise State battled back and eventually tied the Cowgirls 1-1 at the Soccer Etc.- Nike Invitational in Boise, Idaho on Sunday.
The draw leaves Wyoming with an overall record of 4-3-2 while Boise State posts a 4-3-3 record.
"Today's game was a battle and I am pleased with how we preformed," said UW head coach Danny Sanchez. "We were short handed with injuries and Boise State had great pressure, but I was happy with how we defended."
After a scoreless first half, UW got their offense rolling as senior Emily Layton scored from 10 yards out off of a blocked shot, her second goal of the season. The goal came early in the second half at the 48:21 mark and gave the Cowgirls the 1-0 lead.
