Cowgirl Soccer Loses to Arizona Wildcats 3-1

The University of Wyoming Soccer teamadded another loss to their record today to make it 2-8-1 on theseason. The Cowgirls were defeated by the Wildcats 3-1 at MurphyStadium in front of 486 fans. It was 95 degrees in Tucson today, andthe heat would not help the Cowgirls get a victory over the ArizonaWildcats, now 6-4-0 on the season.

The game started at 1:00 PM and only three minutes into the game,the Wildcat's,Tiffany Sabado would get a goal. Arizona's second andthird goals came at 11:45 and 63:25, but the Cowgirls would not give upand scored at 80:27, making the score 3-1 to end the game. Junior,Kelly McShane was the Cowgirl credited with the goal, her second of theweekend. Also helping the Cowgirl offensive effort was senior, KatrinaMorton, with five shots on the afternoon.

UW goalie Amanda Vandervort, now at 98 season saves, had nine saves forthe Cowgirl's defensive effort.

Next up for the Cowgirls will be UNLV and San Diego St. in Laramie fortheir last two home games, but the first of Mountain West Conferenceplay. Up until now the Cowgirls have faced non-conference opponents.The games will be Friday, Oct. 8 at 3:00 PM against UNLV and Sunday,Oct. 10 at 1:00 PM against San Diego St.
