Cowgirl Soccer Falls 2-1 To San Diego State

LARAMIE, Wyo. - *Wyoming at San Diego State - SDSU 2-1 - Box Score

The University of Wyoming Cowgirls lost toSan Diego State today, 2-1, capping their first weekend of conference play.

Wyoming started the game strong against an evenly matched Aztec team.Katrina Morton scored the first goal to take the lead at 18:09. Renee'Minero made a beautiful cross kick into the box to set up the play, butunfortunately was not credited with the assist as the ball was brought downby SDSU and kicked away. Morton intercepted that pass, and was able todrive the ball in.

San Diego's freshman forward, Kim Castellianos tied the game up with aheader off a corner kick at 34:46. She also scored the game winning goal in the secondperiod at 59:34. Castellianos was credited with 10 shots, easily leadingthe Aztecs.

"I think we played well the entire weekend," said Wyoming's head coach AnneMoore. "We obviously didn't get the results we wanted, but I think we werea little tired from Friday's game against UNLV."

The Cowgirl's season record now stands at 6-5-1 with an impressive .590winning percentage. They hope to continue to improve that record Fridaywhen they play South Alabama at home. Kickoff is set for four p.m. Wyomingwill be on a six game home stand to finish up their regular season and meetthe rest of their conference competition.
