Soccer Comes Up Short Against Air Force, 2-1

The University of Wyoming Cowgirlslost another close game today in Colorado Springs, CO against the AirForce Falcons, 2-1. The Cowgirls are now 2-11-1 on the season, while AirForce goes to 7-7-0. The game was decided in the 54th minute when AirForce's Rosie Costello put in a rebound off a header to get the goal.

The goal for the Cowgirls came at 30:03, when junior Katrina Mortonshot from ten yards out and got past the Falcon defense. Morton, nowonly five shots away from beating the career shots record, is alsoleading the Cowgirl team with 33 shots for the season. Freshman SarahStephens, who has two goals and three assists on the season, also had agreat offensive night, taking five shots for the Cowgirls.

UW goalie, Amanda Vandervort also chalked up another nine saves for thenight, putting her only ten saves away from beating the career record insaves set at 273. She has already surpassed Katie Dorais with 190career saves, in the number two spot.
