Cowgirl Soccer Loses to Colorado College

Despite being up a goal on ColoradoCollege, the University of Wyoming soccer team could not close the deal andlost, 3-1, today at Stewart Field in Colorado.

The Cowgirls scored the match's first goal on a free kick that sailed bythe Tiger's keeper, Meghann Loseke. Sophomore Kelly Anderson scored herfirst collegiate goal for UW at 8:19.

The lead didn't last long, however. Tigers' stand-out Ashley Hooversontied the game on a rebound shot at 20:08 then assisted Andrea Johnson withthe go-ahead goal. Colorado College scored one more in the second half at62:44 to put themselves on top of the Cowgirls, 3-1.

Wyoming, (2-7-2, 0-0-1 MWC) has now gone six consecutive games without awin after Friday's tie with Mountain West opponent, New Mexico. ColoradoCollege improved their already impressive record to 8-2-2.

UW will be back in action this weekend hosting their first two home MWCmatches. San Diego State (5-8-1, 1-1-0 MWC) comes to town Fri., Oct. 19 fora 4 p.m. game. UNLV will try their luck Sun., Oct. 21 at 12 noon.
