Cowgirl Soccer Closes Sixth Season With 3-0 Loss

LARAMIE, Wyo. - Colorado College at Wyoming - Colorado College 3-0 - Box Score

A 3-0 loss to Colorado College ended theUniversity of Wyoming's record breaking regular season. The Cowgirlsfinished at 7-10-1 (0-6 MWC), the best record in the program's briefhistory. Colorado College closed out their season at 12-7.

The Tigers scored their first goal off a Wyoming player at 26:12.Krysten Wilde was credited with the goal. Colorado College scored two moretimes in the match. At 69:52, Kris Kifer scored with the assist from KaseyClark. Mari Miezwa scored the Tiger's final goal at 75:39, a header off apass from Kifer.

Wyoming was still making adjustments with filling positions, but madeseveral shots. None could make it into the back of the net, however. TheCowgirls were outshot by the Tigers, 17-12. Cowgirl goalkeeper AmandaVandervort made six saves.

"Right now, I think we're trying to overcompensate for Kelly's (McShane)and Sara's (Stephens) absence," said Wyoming's head coach Anne Moore. "Withpeople playing out of position we made too many little mistakes on things wenormally do very well. We need to get everyone in sync and playing togetherto do well."

The Cowgirls go to Las Vegas, Nevada for the Mountain West ConferenceTournament Nov. 1-4 with the seventh seed. Coach Moore is optimistic aboutthe game, especially with the possibility of McShane and Stephens returningto play. Wyoming will play number two Utah on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
