LARAMIE, Wyo. - Wyoming soccer earned its eight, postseason, award as Alex Boehm was named to the 2014 National Soccer Coaches Association of America Scholar All-West Region team. Boehm was one of the 19 honorable mentions and was one of the three from the Mountain West. The Cowgirls have now earned two academic awards, along with Laurel Ramer's Capitol One First Team Academic All-District VII honor.
Boehm has been an excellent student as well as goalkeeper for the Cowgirls the past two seasons after transferring from Saint Mary's in Moraga, Calif. This is her third academic award with UW after receiving an Outstanding Student Award in Business Administration from the Department of Management and Marketing at the College of Business Annual Recognition Dinner and earned Academic All-MW honors in 2013. Boehm finished her career with Wyoming soccer with 40 games played with 139 saves and goals-against average of 1.43. She finished with seven shutouts to tie for first in UW history with Jamie Scarcliff (2008) and Lori Scheider (2003).
