LARAMIE, Wyo. -
University of Wyoming women’s soccer head coach Pete Cuadrado announced Tuesday the addition of Katie Marcheso to the Cowgirl soccer program. A midfielder, Marcheso transferred from the University of Oklahoma after appearing in five matches in 2013.
"I am happy to announce the signing of transfer student Katie Marcheso for the spring semester,” Cuadrado said. “Katie is a great person from a great family, and is a very hard worker as a player. Her playing background with her former soccer club Real Colorado gave her a great base for development, and her versatility as a player will be a great asset. We’re looking forward to working with Katie and seeing her make a positive impact on our program in her final three seasons as a Cowgirl.”
A native of Littleton, Colo., Marcheso was a four-year letterwinner and 2012 graduate of Green Mountain High School. She was ranked No. 144 by ESPN in the class of 2012 for college soccer prospects after leading Green Mountain to the state championship her senior year and being named first team all-conference. Marcheso played club soccer for Real Colorado and helped lead the team to six-straight appearances in the Colorado State Cup, including a championship in 2006. She redshirted her first year at OU and played in five matches for the Sooners as a redshirt freshman.
