Wyoming Soccer Gets New Addition

University of Wyoming soccer head coachAnne Moore announced today that Kelly McKay, a transfer from theOklahoma State University, will be a new addition to the Cowgirl soccerteam.

"We are extremely excited to have Kelly McKay here," said Moore. "Sheis going to bring a lot of experience from playing in the Big 12conference at Oklahoma State. Her speed, size, athleticism andexperience will lift our team to another level. I think that she isgoing to be a major factor for our team in the fall."

The 5-9 sophomore will be playing the center midfield position for theCowgirls. As a freshman at Oklahoma State, McKay was the Freshman ofthe Year and selected to the All-Tournament team at the Louisiana StateUniversity Invitational.

While in high school, McKay served as the captain for both the schooland club teams. She helped her team place second at the Provincials in1997.

Old Miss and University of Memphis recruited McKay out of high school.

She chose UW over the University of Idaho and University of Portland.

She plans to major in business.

McKay is from Vancouver, Canada. Her parents are Bob and LorraineMcKay. She has one brother, David, and one sister, Nicole.
