The Wyoming Cowgirl soccer team is halfway through its spring season and has posted a 2-1 record, while outscoring its opponents 5-1. The Cowgirls have hosted the Wyoming Indoor Tournament and played a neutral site match against Colorado College.
"We are really making progress this spring we have played well and had some success so far," first-year head coach Pete Cuadrado said. "The next three weekends are really going to replicate the regular season. We will be playing two or more games a weekend and I am excited to see how we respond."
The Cowgirls began the spring season on Sunday, March 4th with the Wyoming Indoor Tournament. They played two games at the Wyoming Indoor defeating Denver, 2-0, and Northern Colorado, 3-0.
The following Thursday, March 8th the Cowgirls traveled to Greeley, Colo., for a match against Colorado College. Wyoming allowed its first goal of the spring falling to the Tigers 1-0.
Wyoming soccer will be on the road for the next three weekends traveling first to Denver, Colo., this Saturday, April 7 for the Regis University Tournament. UW will play three games on Saturday, at the Regis Tournament beginning at 10:15 a.m. against Northern Colorado. The final two games will be played at 12:45 p.m. (Fort Lewis) and 3:15 p.m. (Colorado Mesa).
The following weekend of April 14th, Cowgirls will take part in the BYU Tournament. The Cowgirls will conclude the spring tournament season on Saturday, April 21 with the Colorado Mesa Tournament.
The final event of the spring season will be the annual alumni game on April 22nd at 10 a.m. MT, followed by the annual soccer banquet in the Wildcatter Stadium Club and Suites.
