Wyoming Soccer Closes Strong Spring Exhibition Season

Meet New Head Coach Peter Cuadrado

The Wyoming Cowgirl soccer team concluded its spring exhibition season on Sunday, April 22, with the annual alumni game and awards banquet.

"I am very pleased with how the spring went," first-year Cowgirl head coach Pete Cuadrado said. "We finished on a strong note last weekend and played well all spring. I am really focusing on getting us healthy and ready for this coming fall."

In four tournaments and one game during the spring, the Cowgirls compiled a 5-2-3 (.650 winning percentage) overall record. The Cowgirls recorded some excellent wins this spring including Utah, front-range rival Northern Colorado and Denver.

The Cowgirls finished the season with the annual alumni game on Sunday, with the current Cowgirls and the Cowgirl alumni tying 2-2. The current team won on penalty kicks 4-3. Following the alumni game was the Wyoming soccer banquet and team awards ceremony where the 2011 team award winners were announced. Below is a list of the 2011 winners.

Newcomer of the Year- Ashlyn Mazur
