The University of Wyoming Cowgirl soccer team began their 2010 season on Wednesday with their first preseason practice. Practices are being held twice a day during the next two weeks, on the North 40 Cowgirl practice fields.

"We are feeling good about how our team has come in prepared this fall," said UW head coach Danny Sanchez. "We have a nice mix of returning players and freshmen, that will help us continue to improve, and keep moving our program forward."

Wyoming soccer welcomes back 18 returning players from last year's team that recorded a 9-8-1 record. Wyoming soccer also adds seven newcomers to this year's squad.

The Cowgirls will begin their 2010 campaign with an exhibition match against Regis University at the Louis S. Madrid Sports Complex, on Saturday August 14 at 1 p.m. Their regular season will begin also at home, Friday Aug. 20 at 4 p.m. against the University of Northern Colorado Bears.

Live game updates of all Cowgirl home matches during the 2010 season will be provided on Twitter.com/WYOSOCCER.
