LARAMIE, Wyo. -
The University of Wyoming Cowgirl soccer team will open up with their first practice of the 2004 pre-season on Wednesday, August 11 at 2:00 p.m., at the UW Soccer Stadium. Sixth year head coach Anne Moore welcomes back six starters and 14 letterwinners from a team that finished 10-9 overall and 4-2 in the MWC in 2003.
"We've spent the past month planning and preparing for the players," said Moore. "We have a solid group returning with six seniors and two All-Conference players, and can't wait to get on the field and start practicing. With only five newcomers joining the squad, everything should be able to come together quickly."
The Cowgirls' first practice will open up on Wednesday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. They will run a combination of one-a-day and two-a-day practices for the remainder of the pre-season. All practices are open. For regular practice times during the season, please contact John Paradis or the UW Athletics Media Relations Office.
The Cowgirls' will open up the 2004 soccer season by hosting an exhibition game at the UW Soccer Stadium, on Thursday, August 19 at 4:00 p.m., against Colorado College in Laramie. They will open the regular season at home with a game on Friday, August 27 against the Gonzaga Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. In all the Cowgirls will host nine regular season contests.
