The University of Wyoming Cowgirlsoccer team will open up with their first practice of the 2002pre-season on Thursday, August 15 at 3:00 p.m., at the UW SoccerStadium. Fourth year head coach Anne Moore welcomes back eight startersand 14 letterwinners from last year's squad.
"We are extremely excited to be starting our fall training," said headcoach Anne Moore. "It's what we plan and look forward to all year. Weimplemented a new system in the spring and are anxious to see how thenew and returning players will respond to it in a competitiveenvironment."
The Cowgirls' first practice will open up with an intrasquad scrimmageon Thursday from 3:00-5:00 p.m. They will run two-a-day practices(10:15-noon and 3:30-5:30) for the remainder of the pre-season. Allpractices are open.
The Cowgirls' will open up the 2002 soccer season by hosting anexhibition game at the UW Soccer Stadium, on Saturday August 24 at 1:00p.m., against Northern Colorado in Laramie. They will open the regularseason on the road at the Ohana Hotels and Resorts Tournament, withgames against Alabama-Birmingham and Hawai'i, in Honolulu. In all theCowgirls will host ten regular season contests.
