Moore Announces Hiring Of Assistant Coach

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

University of Wyoming head soccer coachAnne Moore announced today the hiring of Misty Long as an assistant coachfor the Cowgirl program. Her hiring is subject to the UW Board of Trusteeapproval.

Long joins the Cowgirl staff after two years at the University ofEvansville, where she graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science inEducational Studies. Long played goalkeeper for the Purple Aces during hercollegiate career, and was one of the first recruits of the program.

The Carlsbad, N.M. native was a four-year letterwinner, and still ownsseveral school records. She was a team captain in 1996 when the Aces wontheir first conference championship. She also made second team all-GreatMidwest Conference in 1994 and first team all-Missouri Valley Conference in1996.

"We are really excited to have Misty here," says coach Moore. "She has anexcellent background from coaching at the regional level for the Midwest.She also has her A-license, which is the highest training you can get. Shewill bring a lot to the team not only with the goalkeepers, but the fieldplayers as well."
