Nebraska-Omaha and Eastern Washington Visit the Cowgirls

LARAMIE, Wyo. - Coming off a weekend sweep and three-game winning streak, the Cowgirl soccer team returns to Laramie to face Nebraska-Omaha and Eastern Washington this weekend at the Louis S. Madrid Sports Complex.

Wyoming faces the Mavericks Friday at 4 p.m. and the Eagles on Sunday at 1 p.m.

"We look forward to getting back on the field and competing against two quality opponents," said Wyoming coach Pete Cuadrado. "Both teams will provide stiff challenges for us and we'll need to pick up where we left off on Sunday."

Nebraska-Omaha is currently 0-3 this season and coming off a 3-1 loss to Utah State last Sunday in which the Mavs scored their first goal of the year. Junior Monica Bosiljevec leads the team with two points after scoring the goal against the Aggies.

They opened the 2012 season with a 4-0 loss to Iowa State and a 3-0 loss to Missouri State after going 5-7-2 in 2011. The Mavericks have a 198-59-12 all-time record under coach Don Klosterman and are entering their first season at the NCAA Division I level as a member of The Summit League. They had eight NCAA Division II tournament appearances and earned a national championship in 2005.

Eastern Washington is 0-2 this season coming off a 3-0 loss to Seattle on Sunday and a 3-2 loss to North Dakota State last Friday. Wyoming owns a 6-0 all-time record against the Eagles.

Redshirt freshman Alisha Stott and sophomore Kayla Sutter lead the team with one goal apiece scored against NDSU as the Eagles average 13 shots per game.

They face MW opponent Air Force on Friday before Sunday's matchup with the Cowgirls.
