The University of Wyoming women's soccer team will return to the Louis S. Madrid Sports Complex on Friday for their home opener. The match against the Morehead State Eagles will begin at 3 p.m. MT. UW will turn around and play the Drake Bulldogs on Sunday at 1 p.m. for the second home game of the season.

The Cowgirls are currently 0-0-3 on the season and are looking for their first win. Last season, the Pokes were undefeated at home with an unblemished record of 6-0-0.

"Every season is different," Cowgirl soccer head coach Pete Cuadrado said. "But, being undefeated last year is something that definitely gives us confidence going into the weekend."

Wyoming has only allowed two goals on the season. It is the first time since 2009 that the Cowgirls have allowed two goals through three games. For the first time in Wyoming Cowgirl soccer history, UW has tied three straight matches. One more tie will match the single season record for the Cowgirls.

Last season, the Eagles upended UW, 2-1, in Morehead, Ky. at Jayne Stadium.

"They're a good team," Cuadrado said. "They are athletic and physical and they will challenge us. We know that it will not be an easy game, but we will be ready."

Morehead State has a record of 2-2-0 this season with wins against Xavier and Bowling Green. Their two losses came from Illinois-Chicago and Wright State. The Eagles are led by Dani Wilson, who has three goals on the season. Morehead State holds a 1-0-0 lead all-time over the Cowgirls.

The Drake Bulldogs will make their way over to Louis S. Madrid to battle the Cowgirls on Sunday afternoon. Drake boasts a 2-2-0 record with wins over South Dakota and Pacific. Drake is led by Alyssa Brand with two goals on the season. The last match-up between the Bulldogs and Wyoming ended in a 5-2 Cowgirl victory in 2013. Wyoming holds a 2-1-1 overall record against Drake.

Friday's game will include a vuvuzela giveaway before the match. Then on Sunday there will be a petting zoo that will start one hour prior to the game and ends 30 minutes after kick off. It is also youth soccer day (any youth players with their team in their jerseys get free admission) and family four pack day (4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, and 4 Pepsi's for $20).
