The University of Wyoming Cowgirl soccer team returns to the pitch this weekend, visiting South Dakota and Morehead State. The Cowgirls will have matches on Friday at 3 p.m. MT versus South Dakota and Sunday at 10:30 a.m. MT against Morehead State. UW is coming off a loss at Utah Valley last Friday.

"It's going to be a tough road trip. Both are solid teams who will challenge us," UW head coach Pete Cuadrado said. "It's another opportunity to win. We just have to make sure to finish our chances and get the saves we need for the win."

A look at the matchup - South Dakota: UW leads the overall series, 2-1-0, with the last meeting Aug. 30, 2013. In that match, UW lost in overtime 2-1 to the Coyotes at the Louis S. Madrid Sport Complex. The Coyotes scored the first goal at the 70th minute to take the lead over Wyoming, but the Cowgirls responded with a goal from the top of the box 14 minutes later. In overtime, South Dakota found the back of the net in the 98th minute for the win.

In their last outing, the Coyotes dropped a game to Arizona in Flagstaff, Ariz., this week, 3-2, to fall to 4-2-0. South Dakota tied the game at 1-1 late in the second half off a header, but each team scored another goal within the next five minutes. The game was knotted 2-2 until the 85th minute where Arizona scored off a free kick for the victory.
