Weber State forward Celeste Collins scored twice, once midway through the first half and thenagain late in the second half, to lead the Wildcats to a 2-0 victory over theUniversity of Wyoming in Ogden, Utah. Weber State peppered UW goalkeeper Amanda Vandervort with 30 shots over the course of the game. The loss drops Wyomings season record to1-3-0, while the Weber State victory brings their seasonrecord to 3-2-0.
The Cowgirls had three shots on goal, compared to Weber State's seven shots ongoal, marking another frustrating offensive performance by Wyoming. Katrina Morton led the Cowgirl attack with three shots during the game.
This was the second meeting between UW and Weber State in women'ssoccer. The two teams last met on Oct. 6, 1996, in Laramie,with Weber State winning 1-0. Weber State now has a record of 2-0 againstUW.
The Cowgirl's next home match will be Friday, Sept. 18, versus WrightState, at 4:00 p.m. at the UW Soccer Field. The following Sunday, Sept. 20, Wyoming will host Pacific University in a 1:00 pm matchup at the UW Soccer Field.
