Wyoming Soccer Regionally Ranked For The First Time In Its History

LARAMIE, Wyo. - The University of Wyoming Cowgirl soccer team received its first ever regional ranking in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Pacific Region Poll. The Cowgirls (8-4-2 overall, 1-0 Mountain West) are ranked No. 10 in the current poll.

The Cowgirls will be off this coming weekend Oct. 7-9, but will return to action on Friday, Oct. 14 against New Mexico who is currently ranked No. 6 in the current poll. Kickoff between UW and UNM is set for 5 p.m. MT. Wyoming soccer will stay on the road on Sunday, Oct. 16 to take on the TCU Horned Frogs. The Cowgirls and the Horned Frogs game will be televised on the Mtn. Sports Network beginning at 12 p.m. MT.

"We have had a good start to the season and to Mountain West play," Cowgirl head coach Danny Sanchez said. "We have two very huge matches coming up next weekend against New Mexico and TCU and we are hoping to continue the momentum into those two games."

In addition to future opponent New Mexico begin ranked the Cowgirls will also take on No. 6 ranked San Diego State in Laramie on Oct. 21.
