Wyoming's McShane Named MWC Women's Soccer Player of the Week

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

Wyoming senior forward Kelly McShanehas been named the Mountain West Conference Women?s Soccer Player of theWeek following her second hat trick of the season last week.

McShane, a product of Littleton, Colo., scored three goals on eight shots in the Cowgirls 6-0 win over South Alabama.She became just the second player in MWC history to record two hat tricks in the same season (Michelle Jensen-Peterson, BYU). McShane scored the opening goal of the match at the 6:48 mark. She extended the Cowgirl lead to 3-0 with her second goal at the 23:54 mark and completed the hat trick in the 55th minute of the match.

McShane is the only player in Wyoming?s short women?s soccer history to have recorded a hat trick. She has also moved into first on the Cowgirls career goals (18) and points (41) list, as well as setting new single season goals (9) and points (19) marks.
