The University of Wyoming soccer team will close out its regular season this weekend with a conference match at Air Force on Friday and a non-conference match at home with Northern Colorado on Sunday. The Cowgirls enter the weekend with a 7-6-3 overall record and a 3-3 Mountain West Conference mark.
The Cowgirls will open the weekend on Friday when they travel to Air Force for their final MWC game of the season. The game has major implications for the conference championships, which will be held next week in Las Vegas, Nev. The Cowgirls are currently tied with San Diego State for the fourth spot in the conference, however the Cowgirls hold the tie breaker as they beat the Aztecs 1-0 earlier this season. Each conference team will play its final MWC game this weekend.
The Cowgirls will take on Air Force Friday at 5 p.m. in Colorado Springs, Colo. The Falcons have struggled this season and have yet to win a MWC game. They are 4-14-1 overall and 0-6 in MWC action. The Falcons are led by junior Brittney Perkowski who has scored a team high five goals on the year.
Northern Colorado enters Sunday's match with an overall record of 5-8-2. They are led by an explosive forward in Jessica Zimmerman who has scored eight goals and dished out seven assists.
Sundays game will be senior day for three Cowgirl seniors. Mercy Adetoye, Kara Walters and Celia White will be playing in their final game at the UW Soccer Stadium and will be honored prior to kickoff. Kickoff on Sunday is set for 1 p.m
