Kuyper Selected For MWC Women's Soccer All-Tournament Team

Nov. 8, 1999

Freshman goalkeeper Sarah Kuyper was selected to the MWC All-Tournament team yesterday. Kuyper had the best game of her young career against BYU in the first round of the MWC Championships last Wednesday. She had seventeen saves and only allowed the Cougars to get one goal in the game, coming off a penalty kick from All-American Maren Hendershot of BYU.

Head coach Anne Moore said ?Sarah played an excellent game. A couple of the shots she saved were extremely tough saves. Several times I thought for sure that she wouldn't hold onto it, but she came through for our team and held onto the ball, and is very deserving of this honor.?

Kuyper ended her season with 42 saves and a goals against average of 2.32. She started the last three games for the Cowgirls and ended up with 348:44 minutes played.
