LARAMIE, Wyo. -
The University of Wyoming women's tennis team resumed their season this past Saturday, January 30, when they traveled to Boulder, Colorado, for a dual match with the 27th ranked Colorado Buffaloes.
The Buffaloes lived up to their ranking during the match as they defeated the Cowgirls 8-1. Wyoming is now 0-1 in dual matches while CU improved to 3-0.
UW's lone victory came at the #2 doubles position where the Cowgirl team of Sarah Kay and Lisa Pruett defeated CU's Bek/Evans by the score of 8-5. Kay also played very well in her singles match as she took CU's top player, Jessica Garrow, to three sets before losing 6-4, 4-6, 6-2, in the #1 singles match.
The Cowgirls and the Buffaloes are very familiar with each other as they both competed this past fall in the CU Invite, with CU winning seven of ten head-to-head singles matches between the two schools and UW winning two of three doubles matches.
