The 75th ranked Wyoming Cowgirl Tennis team (4-2 overall) came back on Saturday with a 5-2 victory over the San Francisco Dons in Santa Barbara.
The Cowgirls would win all three matches in order to earn the first point of the day. The 62nd ranked team of Simona Synkvoa and Kim van Ginkel defeated Gratian and Wartenburger, 8-4. Veronica Popovici and Carly Van Hollen battled it out to defeat Duriez and Hashiguchi, 8-7, while Alexandra Kovacs and Sasa Nemcova finished things up with an 8-1 win over Mekpoh and Reed.
In singles action, Wyoming won four of six matches to take the match. Alexandra Kovacs won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3 over Julia Wartenburger as did Kim van Ginkel against Cecile Duriez, 6-0, 6-1. In the number three position, Simona Synkova recorded a 7-5, 6-0 over Yurie Haskiguchi, while Rebecca Berger defeated Alana McMahon, 6-2, 7-5, to wrap up the match.
The Cowgirls will close out the weekend against the UC Irvine Anteaters on Sunday.
