Women's Tennis Falls to BYU-Hawai'i, 8-1

The University of Wyoming women's tennis team began their Spring Break week with a dual match against undefeated BYU-Hawai'i on Monday, March 1. Unfortunately the Cowgirls could not get the week off to a winning start as they dropped the dual by a score of 8-1.

With the loss Wyoming's record fell to 1-6 overall, 0-1 in conference play. BYU-Hawai'i maintained their perfect season with the win and improved to 12-0.

Sophomore Lisa Pruett got the only win for the Cowgirls as she pulled out a three-set win at the #4 singles position. Pruett came from a set down to defeat Tomoko Sukegowa 1-6, 6-4, 6-1.

Freshman Natalie Morozova lost a close three-set match at the #2 singles spot to Karin Ptaszek. Morozova fell 1-6, 6-4, 6-4.

The remaining four UW singles players all fell in straight sets.

The Cowgirls are in Hawai'i this week for four Spring Break dual matches. While on the islands, UW faced BYU-Hawai'i on Monday, March 1, and then will play Boston College on March 2, WAC foe Hawai'i on March 4 and will finish up with a dual against Chaminade on March 5.
